Stanbic IBTC Promotes Financial Literacy Among Nigerian Youths, Celebrates Winners of InvestBeta
Stanbic IBTC Asset Management recently honoured winners of the highly anticipated InvestBeta Game Show during a vibrant ceremony at the Stanbic IBTC Towers in Victoria Island, Lagos.
The event marked the culmination of season one of the initiative, celebrating the participants’ outstanding achievements in financial literacy and underscoring the company’s commitment to fostering financial awareness among Nigerian youths.
Launched after months of meticulous planning, the InvestBeta Game Show represents a transformative financial literacy programme designed to equip young Nigerians with the knowledge and tools necessary for embarking on their investment journey.
The initiative featured four Campus Play editions across various university campuses and eight episodes of weekly Home Play segments on YouTube.
The debut season witnessed over 3,000 participants competing, with 59 winners rewarded with investment portfolios worth more than N7 million.
Speaking at the awards ceremony, Anita Dele-Dickson, Head of Business Development at Stanbic IBTC Asset Management, expressed her excitement about the programme’s success.
“Today’s ceremony demonstrates our commitment to developing a financially literate generation. By fostering an environment where young people can learn and grow, we ensure they are well-prepared to face future challenges and to make informed investment decisions,” she stated.
Dele-Dickson further highlighted the far-reaching impact of financial literacy, describing it as a pivotal tool for driving personal and community economic growth.
She explained that as young people become better equipped with financial knowledge, they are poised to make informed decisions that benefit not only themselves but also their communities and the broader economy.
The winners received investment portfolios specifically designed to recognise their accomplishments and encourage continued growth in financial management.
Niyi Ajayi, Head of Customer Experience at Stanbic IBTC Asset Management, emphasised the symbolic value of these portfolios. “Each portfolio represents a tangible step in their journey towards becoming savvy investors, instilling a sense of ownership and responsibility over their financial futures,” he remarked.
