ACG Dangaladima Assumes Leadership of Customs Zone ‘C’ Headquarters

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) Zone ‘C’, headquartered in Port Harcourt, has welcomed Assistant Comptroller General (ACG) Sambo Kaliel Dangaladima as its new Zonal Coordinator.

The transition of leadership was formalised during a brief but impactful handing-over ceremony on Monday, 9th December 2024.

Outgoing Zonal Coordinator, ACG Charles Orbih, who has now been redeployed to Zone ‘A’, expressed confidence in Dangaladima’s ability to lead the zone effectively.

Describing him as the best fit for the role, Orbih highlighted key milestones achieved under his tenure, which included the reorganisation and repositioning of the workforce for optimal efficiency and fostering robust stakeholder engagements.

He extended gratitude to the officers and personnel of Zone ‘C’ for their unwavering dedication and support during his leadership.

In his inaugural address, ACG Sambo Kaliel Dangaladima pledged to build upon the successes of his predecessor.

He underscored his commitment to the NCS’s policy pillars of Consolidation, Collaboration, and Innovation, urging officers and personnel to strive for excellence in their duties.

Dangaladima also assured stakeholders of his transparency and fairness, promising to create a conducive working environment for all.

“I am deeply grateful to the Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, MFR, and his management team for entrusting me with this responsibility. I pledge to serve with unwavering commitment and humility,” Dangaladima stated.

Born on 31st December 1965 in Kebbi State, North-West Nigeria, ACG Sambo Kaliel Dangaladima boasts a distinguished career in the Nigeria Customs Service, which he joined in 1990 as a Cadet Superintendent.

An alumnus of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Education, Dangaladima has demonstrated exceptional administrative and intelligence-driven skills throughout his career.

His extensive service record includes notable positions such as:
Deputy Comptroller overseeing Intellectual Property Rights under the Department of Strategic Research and Policy, Customs Headquarters, Abuja.

He was Comptroller of Customs for Import and Export under the Tariff and Trade Department.

He was Customs Area Controller of Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.

He was Customs Area Controller for Kano/Jigawa Area Command.

He was Comptroller Admin, Zone ‘B’ Headquarters, Kaduna.

He also took leadership roles within the Customs Intelligence Unit (CIU).

Elevated to the rank of Assistant Comptroller General, Dangaladima previously served as the Zonal Coordinator for Zone ‘B’ before assuming his new role in Zone ‘C’.

Dangaladima has attended numerous strategic and managerial training courses both domestically and internationally.

His outstanding contributions to the Nigeria Customs Service have earned him multiple awards and accolades.

The new Zonal Coordinator is happily married with children and brings a wealth of experience and a collaborative approach to his new role in Zone ‘C’.
