The League of Airport and Aviation Correspondents (LAAC), Nigeria’s foremost aviation media body, has announced that its 29th Annual Conference will take place on Thursday, 7 August 2025, at the Providence Hotel, GRA Ikeja, Lagos.

The high-profile event, slated to begin at 9:00 a.m., will convene key players from Nigeria’s aviation sector and beyond to deliberate on the theme: “Aviation Financing in Nigeria: The Risks, Opportunities and Prospects.”
This year’s conference is poised to serve as a pivotal platform for stakeholders to dissect the pressing issues confronting the aviation industry, particularly in the area of financing.

Participants will include policymakers, regulators, airline operators, airport managers, financial institutions, insurance firms, and service providers, all gathering for robust discourse aimed at charting a path toward sustainable sectoral growth.

A highlight of the event will be the unveiling of a commemorative publication titled “Celebrating Champions of Aviation Development.” The special edition will honour individuals, institutions, and state governments that have played significant roles in transforming Nigeria’s aviation landscape since the nation’s return to democratic rule in 1999.

Speaking on the importance of this year’s event, Mr Wole Shadare, Chairman of the LAAC Conference Committee, noted that the gathering would transcend routine industry engagement.

“Our 29th annual conference is not just another industry event; it is a platform for constructive dialogue and a rallying point for shaping the future of aviation in Nigeria through sustainable financing and investment models. We are proud to be honouring those who have contributed immensely to aviation development over the last two decades,” he stated.

According to the organisers, the conference will feature detailed discussions and expert presentations on critical sub-themes including: Airport infrastructure development; Aircraft leasing and financing mechanisms.

Other sub-themes include: Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) funding; Aviation fuel supply and pricing dynamics; Regulatory reforms and consumer protection; Navigational infrastructure and airspace management; Insurance, risk management, and sectoral investment strategies.

In recognition of the fundamental role of financing in aviation development, leading Nigerian banks and financial institutions have confirmed their participation.

Several state governments that own and operate airports have also pledged their support, underlining their commitment to building sustainable aviation infrastructure in their respective regions.

Moreover, all aviation regulatory bodies, local and international airlines, ground handling firms, travel agencies, and allied service providers have expressed their willingness to fully engage in the conference proceedings.

Over the years, the LAAC Annual Conference has evolved into a flagship industry event that not only influences policy direction but also enhances investment awareness and fosters synergy within Nigeria’s aviation ecosystem.

The League reaffirmed its commitment to facilitating progressive dialogue, promoting global best practices, and recognising excellence within the aviation sector.
