Air Peace Rallies Travel Partners Ahead of Abuja–London Flight Debut

Air Peace Limited, Nigeria’s flagship carrier and West Africa’s aviation trailblazer, has stepped up preparations for the inauguration of its Abuja–London services by hosting a Travel Partner Forum at the Transcorp Hilton, Abuja, on Monday.
The new flights, set to commence on 26 and 28 October 2025 to both Heathrow and Gatwick airports, represent a fresh milestone in the airline’s fast-growing international operations.
The Abuja forum brought together the airline’s leading travel agents, senior officials of the National Association of Nigerian Travel Agencies (NANTA), and representatives of Amadeus and Sabre – two of the world’s most prominent global travel solutions providers.
The gathering reinforced Air Peace’s drive to cultivate strong industry alliances as it broadens Nigeria’s global connectivity.
Delivering the central presentation of the day, Air Peace’s Chief Commercial Officer, Mr. Nowel Ngala, unveiled an extensive briefing on the forthcoming Abuja–London service.
His data-led address underlined the strategic importance of the route for Nigeria’s aviation sector, while also highlighting the critical role of travel agents in ensuring passenger uptake and market sustainability.
An open Q&A session enabled industry players to exchange views on sales strategies, collaborative opportunities, and ways to cement Nigeria’s standing in international aviation.
Air Peace Chairman, Dr. Allen Onyema, in a goodwill address, hailed the travel trade for their steadfast support since the airline’s historic Lagos–London Gatwick service began in March 2024.
He described their collaboration as a cornerstone of Air Peace’s bold move into Heathrow, adding that the airline’s vision was also rooted in national development.
“Air Peace is not just offering Nigerians premium travel options; we are deliberately investing in human capital through initiatives such as our Graduate Trainee Programme. Thousands of young Nigerians have already benefited, gaining opportunities to build careers and contribute meaningfully to our nation’s progress,” Onyema remarked.
As part of its rollout plans, the airline disclosed that selected travel agents will receive complimentary seats on the inaugural Abuja–London flights, while a period of discounted fares has been designed to make the service both attractive and sustainable.
“Our Abuja brothers and sisters will have the privilege of experiencing this launch, and we are determined to keep it accessible to all through massive fare reductions at the start,” Onyema assured.
NANTA President, Mr. Yinka Folami, paid glowing tribute to Air Peace’s resilience and foresight, particularly applauding its Lagos-based Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) project.
He said the facility, once completed, would be a “game-changer” for the Nigerian and African aviation industry, and pledged the association’s continued backing, describing the airline as a “national project that commands collective support.”
Executives from Amadeus and Sabre commended Air Peace’s forward-looking initiative, stressing that its full integration into their vast global distribution networks – spanning over 160 countries and more than 55,000 travel agencies – would greatly enhance the visibility and competitiveness of the Abuja–London route.
The Abuja–London services mark a significant expansion in Air Peace’s global strategy. Alongside its Lagos–Gatwick operation, the flights are set to ease travel burdens, encourage tourism, strengthen trade and diplomatic relations, create employment opportunities, and foster cultural exchange between Nigeria and the United Kingdom.
By opening this new chapter, Air Peace is consolidating its place as Nigeria’s aviation leader and reaffirming its commitment to expanding connectivity, driving socio-economic growth, and exporting its brand of Nigerian hospitality to the world.
