Omoda, Jaecoo Global Sales Surge 123% as European Expansion Gains Momentum
Omoda and Jaecoo have recorded a 123 per cent year-on-year increase in global sales, driven by strong performances across major European automotive markets, including the United Kingdom, Spain, Italy and France.
The brands sold 73,421 vehicles globally in September 2026, while cumulative sales between January and September reached 587,846 units, reflecting growing demand for their vehicles as they strengthen their presence in key international markets.
The United Kingdom remained one of their strongest markets in Europe, with combined registrations rising by 106 per cent year-on-year to 22,296 units in September.
The performance gave the brands a 6.37 per cent share of the UK automotive market and placed them second among automotive brands in the country during the month.
The Jaecoo 7 was a major contributor to the growth, recording 10,813 registrations to become the UK’s best-selling new-car model in September. Its cumulative registrations between January and September stood at 39,473 units, underlining its growing popularity among British motorists.
Beyond sales, Omoda and Jaecoo are seeking to deepen their roots in the UK through plans to establish a research and development centre at UTAC Millbrook in Bedfordshire.
The proposed facility is expected to focus on key automotive technologies, including chassis tuning and advanced driver-assistance systems, as the brands seek to strengthen their vehicles’ suitability for European driving conditions and customer expectations.
The planned investment also signals a broader strategy to combine sales expansion with local technical development as competition intensifies in the European automotive market.
Spain also delivered strong results, with registrations increasing by 91.5 per cent year-on-year to 4,010 units in September. The growth lifted the brands’ combined market share to a record 4.3 per cent.
Electrified vehicles accounted for 98 per cent of their sales in Spain, highlighting the importance of electrification to their market performance and product strategy in the country.
Italy recorded 4,678 registrations in September, translating into a 3.31 per cent market share. The market also delivered significant cumulative growth, with registrations between January and September climbing by 256.23 per cent year-on-year to 32,945 units.
The performance points to the brands’ rapidly expanding presence in Italy, where they have continued to build their customer base.
In France, combined registrations reached 3,003 units in September, with Jaecoo contributing 2,589 units. The result came approximately six months after the brand entered the French market, suggesting a strong early response to its introduction.
The growing contribution of these European markets has coincided with a significant increase in demand for new-energy vehicles (NEVs), which continue to underpin Omoda and Jaecoo’s global sales expansion.
The brands recorded NEV sales of 53,957 units in September, representing a 184 per cent increase compared with the corresponding period last year.
The figure accounted for approximately 73.5 per cent of their combined global sales during the month, indicating that electrified models have become a major component of their expanding international business.
The strong NEV performance also highlights the growing importance of electrified vehicles to the brands’ strategy as they compete in markets where demand for lower-emission mobility and advanced automotive technologies continues to shape purchasing decisions.
With global sales approaching 600,000 units in the first nine months of 2026, Omoda and Jaecoo’s latest results underscore the pace of their international expansion, particularly in Europe.
Their performance in the UK, Spain, Italy and France suggests that the brands are gaining ground in several competitive markets, supported by rising registrations, growing demand for electrified vehicles and plans to strengthen their technical capabilities in Europe.
