NDLEA: No Payment Required for Drug Integrity Test by Interior Ministry Recruitment Candidates
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has announced that applicants undergoing recruitment into four agencies under the Ministry of Interior will not be required to pay for the mandatory Drug Integrity Test (DIT).
The agency said arrangements had been concluded for the exercise, which forms part of the recruitment process for new personnel into the Nigerian Correctional Service, Nigeria Immigration Service, Federal Fire Service and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
In a statement issued on Friday, October 30, 2026, the NDLEA emphasised that the drug integrity screening had already been fully funded by the Ministry of Interior through a bulk payment covering all successful candidates who would be engaged by the participating agencies.
The agency consequently warned applicants and personnel involved in the exercise against making payments to NDLEA officials, designated testing centres or through any other payment channel for the test.
It stressed that no candidate would be required to pay any fee to access or complete the mandatory screening, urging all participating agencies and their personnel to comply with the directive.
The NDLEA explained that candidates would be required to access its Drug Integrity Test portal through a designated link or access point to be made available on the respective institutional portals of the recruiting agencies.
Through the platform, applicants are expected to complete the necessary registration and documentation before proceeding to the testing stage.
The arrangement, according to the agency, is designed to ensure a seamless and orderly exercise while eliminating the need for additional payments by candidates.
The agency’s clarification is particularly significant for applicants participating in the recruitment exercise, as it provides guidance on the financial requirements for the mandatory screening and seeks to prevent unauthorised charges or demands for payment in connection with the process.
The NDLEA expressed appreciation to the Ministry of Interior for its cooperation and financial commitment towards the exercise, reaffirming its determination to ensure that the Drug Integrity Test is implemented smoothly, transparently and efficiently.
