2024 WAFCON: Super Falcons secure spot with 7 goals thrashing of Cape Verde
Nigeria’s Super Falcons have secured a spot in the 2024 CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco by defeating Cape Verde 2-1 in the second leg playoff on Tuesday night.
With a dominant 7-1 aggregate victory, following their 5-0 win in the first leg, the Super Falcons continue their remarkable streak of qualifying for every WAFCON edition since its inception in 1998.
Alongside Nigeria, teams already holding qualification tickets for WAFCON 2024 include host nation Morocco, reigning champions South Africa, as well as DR Congo, Tunisia, Ghana, Botswana, Algeria, Mali, Tanzania, Senegal, and Zambia.
