2nd Abuja Runway: Keyamo demands quality delivery, 10-year guarantee
Nigeria’s Minister for Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo SAN has demanded quality delivery of the ongoing construction of a second runway at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
The Minister, who visited the site of the ongoing runway project during his inspection of the Abuja airport in the early hours of today Tuesday, September 5 2023, warned the contractors against using substandard materials.
He demanded a 10-year guarantee against damage from the contractors to avoid committing more funds for repairs after the project would have been completed.
“Please we need to be sure you guys are keeping to standard, where’s the MD, how many years guaranty are you giving us, at least 10 years because we will not rush for any procurement, years, after the completion of this project, so you must up your game”, the Minister warned the Managing Director of CCECC, David Wang.
On his part, David Wang promised to keep to standard by delivering a hard-surfaced runway that will last longer, he also agreed to the 10-year guarantee which the Minister asked for.
