NCAT Matriculates 200 Students into OND, HND Programmes

The Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), Zaria, has matriculated 200 students into its National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) accredited Ordinary National Diploma (OND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes.

The newly admitted students will be trained under the institution’s prestigious Aircraft Maintenance Engineering School (AME) and Aeronautical Telecommunications Engineering School (ATE).

The formal matriculation ceremony, held on the NCAT campus, marked the beginning of a rigorous academic journey for the students.

Declaring the event open, the Rector of the college, Dr Danjuma Ismaila, welcomed the students and emphasised the global standards of aviation education.

He was joined by heads of other notable tertiary institutions in Zaria, including the Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology (NITT), the National Research Institute for Chemical Technology (NARICT), and the Nigerian Institute of Leather and Science Technology (NILEST).

In his keynote address, Dr Ismaila charged the matriculating students to remain focused and shun all forms of social vices.

He noted that aviation training is not only highly demanding but also global in scope, requiring absolute dedication and commitment.

“Aviation training is rigorous in content and delivery,” he stated. “To succeed, you must embrace discipline, hard work, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. Our pass mark here is 75%. This means you cannot afford to be complacent – regular attendance and total adherence to our processes are essential.”

He also reassured both students and parents that the college places the highest priority on the safety and security of its community, stressing that the learning environment is both conducive and fully secured.

The event underscored NCAT’s commitment to boosting skilled manpower in the aviation sector by playing a pivotal role in the advancement of professional training in the West African region and beyond.
