The Acting Chief Operating Officer and Head of Aeronautics and Cargo at Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Limited (BASL), Mr Remi Jibodu, has been announced as one of the key speakers at the 10th Airport Business Summit and Expo (ABSE) 2025, scheduled to hold from 15th to 17th July 2025 at the NIGAV Expo Centre, Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.

Themed “Investment Opportunities in Airport Public-Private Partnerships,” this year’s summit will gather industry leaders, policymakers, and investors to explore innovative strategies for airport development in Nigeria and beyond.

Mr Jibodu is billed to speak on “Airport Public-Private Partnership: The Prospect and Challenges” on 16th July 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. His session will include a 30-minute presentation followed by a 10-minute interactive Q&A session.

Given his extensive experience and the landmark role BASL has played in Nigeria’s aviation space, Mr Jibodu’s presentation is expected to shed light on the intricacies of implementing and sustaining Public-Private Partnership (PPP) models in airport operations.

He is set to draw from BASL’s success story with Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal Two (MMA2) – widely regarded as Nigeria’s foremost example of a successful PPP in the aviation sector.

For over 18 years, MMA2 has remained a model of efficiency and innovation in terminal management under the BASL concession, representing a solid case study on the benefits of private sector participation in the development of public infrastructure.

“As a pioneer in airport concessions, BASL has demonstrated how collaboration between the private sector and government can deliver world-class infrastructure and operational excellence,” the company stated.

Mr Jibodu’s insights will be critical as stakeholders deliberate on the opportunities and challenges facing PPPs in aviation, especially in a climate where government is actively courting private investment to bridge infrastructural gaps.

The summit will also be graced by top government officials, including the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr Festus Keyamo, and the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace, Dr Ibrahim Abubakar Kana, along with State Commissioners of Transport, heads of aviation agencies, managing directors, and other dignitaries.

According to Ajoke Yinka-Olawuyi, Head of Corporate Communications at BASL, the company is enthusiastic about contributing to industry dialogue and sharing its proven PPP model as a blueprint for sustainable airport development in Nigeria.

“BASL is committed to fostering innovation and investment in Nigeria’s aviation industry. We look forward to engaging meaningfully at ABSE 2025 and sharing the lessons that have made MMA2 a symbol of PPP success,” she added.

The ABSE 2025 promises to be a landmark event, offering a robust platform for collaboration, strategic partnerships, and the advancement of Nigeria’s aviation industry.
