Najomo Scoops Dual Awards for Excellence in Transport, Logistics Governance

The Director-General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Capt. Chris Najomo, has been honoured with two distinguished awards by the Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology (NITT) for his outstanding leadership and contributions to the nation’s transport and aviation sectors.
The awards – Leadership Award in Transport and Logistics Governance and Distinguished Trailblazer’s Award in Transport and Logistics – were presented during the Nigeria Transport and Logistics Leadership Summit held on Monday, 14 October 2025, in Abuja.
Receiving the awards on behalf of Capt. Najomo, Dr (Mrs) Anastasia Gbem, Director of Human Resources and Administration at the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), expressed appreciation to the organisers for recognising the DGCA’s commitment to reforming and strengthening governance in Nigeria’s aviation industry.
In his goodwill message at the summit, themed “Building Sustainable Transport and Logistics Infrastructure in Nigeria: Current Trends and Future Insights,” Capt. Najomo underscored the critical role of aviation in national development.
He highlighted how the sector serves as a key enabler of global connectivity and trade, drives economic growth, generates employment, and promotes tourism and cultural exchange.

He further reiterated the NCAA’s resolve to uphold global best practices and foster a safe, secure, and efficient air transport system in Nigeria.
Industry stakeholders, policymakers, and other dignitaries in attendance lauded Capt. Najomo’s visionary leadership and dedication to service. They described the awards as a fitting recognition of his exceptional governance style, which has continued to strengthen the foundation of Nigeria’s aviation sector.
The event brought together leaders from various arms of the transport and logistics industry, who discussed innovative strategies to enhance sustainable infrastructure and policy frameworks across the nation’s transport ecosystem.
