NAMA Boss, DATS Director Honoured as AO32 Graduates Celebrate at NCAT Zaria

The Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), Zaria, was aglow with celebration as the graduating class of the Aeronautical Operator’s Course AO32 held its official Graduation and Award Ceremony, honouring distinguished individuals who have contributed immensely to the growth of Nigeria’s aviation industry.

Among those recognised were the Managing Director of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), Engr. Ahmed Umar Farouk, and the Director of Air Traffic Services (DATS), Mr. John Tayo. The colourful event, held on Friday, 24th October 2025, drew together aviation professionals, instructors, students, and dignitaries from across the country to celebrate excellence in leadership, training, and service.

In his citation, Engr. Farouk was lauded for his visionary leadership and unrelenting commitment to modernising Nigeria’s air navigation infrastructure.

His efforts in boosting operational efficiency, enhancing safety standards, and promoting professional capacity among air traffic controllers were highlighted as vital contributions to the growth of the nation’s aviation system.

The event also marked a significant milestone for the AO32 graduates, who successfully completed intensive academic and practical training in air traffic control and aviation operations. They were commended for their resilience, discipline, and professionalism — qualities essential for maintaining the integrity and safety of Nigeria’s skies.

The ceremony, held at the NCAT Auditorium, underscored the enduring partnership between NAMA and NCAT in building the next generation of aviation professionals.
