NiMet Celebrates Staff Honoured as Fellows of ISMN
The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has applauded ten of its senior management personnel who were conferred as Fellows of the Institute of Strategic Management of Nigeria (Chartered) during the 2025 Strategists Forum held in Abuja on Friday, 28 November 2025.
In addition, several other NiMet staff were inducted as Associate and Full Members of the Institute.
A total of fifty-one (51) professionals received the prestigious Fellowship at the event, themed “Creating National Strategic Advantage for Sustainable Development through Public–Private Partnership.” The ten NiMet officials invested as Fellows include:
Engr. Hamid Olayinka Abdulkareem – Director, Engineering & Technical Services
Mrs. Glory Amarachi Onyegbule – Director, Applied Meteorological Services
Akoji Alex Yusuf – Director, Finance & Accounts
Dr. Nasiru Sani – Director, Human Resources Management & Administration
Aransola Abdulatif Yusuf – General Manager, Commercial
Dr. Emmanuel O. Uket – Special Assistant, General Services to the DG/CEO
Hauwa Zakari – Deputy General Manager, Administration (Kano Office)
Dr. Balarabe Abubakar Murktar – Registrar, MIST Katsina
Sani Sadiq Abubakar – Deputy General Manager, Administration
Barr. Odumodu Ebele Nwamaka – Deputy General Manager, Legal Services

In his congratulatory message, the Director General and Chief Executive Officer of NiMet, Professor Charles Anosike, commended the awardees for their hard work, dedication, and commitment to professional excellence.
Professor Anosike, himself a Fellow of the Institute, was credited with creating the enabling environment that encouraged and supported staff to pursue membership across the various categories.
He noted that professional recognition of this nature is crucial for career progression, particularly for officers in the Administrative Cadre. According to him, such achievements not only elevate the profile of the individual officers but also strengthen the institutional capacity of NiMet.
Widely recognised for his emphasis on administrative efficiency and continuous improvement, Professor Anosike reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to optimal resource management, effective processes, and enhanced service delivery. He stressed that these principles remain central to NiMet’s operations and strategic direction.
Represented by Professor Weli, Director of Weather Forecasting Services, the DG delivered his goodwill message at the conference, reiterating that strategic planning and public–private collaborations are indispensable to national development and the advancement of meteorological services in Nigeria.
The 2025 Strategists Forum brought together professionals from diverse sectors to explore innovative strategies for sustainable development.
For NiMet, the induction and elevation of its staff signal a renewed commitment to excellence and a strengthened position within the nation’s strategic management landscape.
