United Nigeria Airlines Expands Board, Appoints Prof. Madubuko Tochukwu as Director
United Nigeria Airlines (UNA) has further strengthened its leadership structure with the appointment of Professor Madubuko Tochukwu Victor as a Director on its Board, effective January 1, 2026, as the airline continues to position itself for sustainable growth and enhanced corporate governance.
The appointment was approved by shareholders at an Extraordinary General Meeting convened on December 30, 2025.
According to the airline, the decision forms part of a deliberate strategy to reinforce board capacity with experienced professionals whose expertise aligns with United Nigeria Airlines’ evolving operational and expansion objectives.
Prof. Madubuko is a highly accomplished global executive with over 20 years of experience spanning entrepreneurship, international business, education and public service.
He has built a reputation for driving organisational development, business growth and strategic transformation across diverse sectors and geographical markets.
He currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Chilanna Holdings LLC in Miami, United States, where he oversees a range of business interests.
In addition, he is the Chairman of The Moonshine Contractors Limited and the Managing Partner of CareerNation, a United States-based human capital consulting firm operating across multiple states, offering strategic workforce planning and leadership development services.
Academically, Prof. Madubuko holds a Master’s degree in Management from The New School and a Bachelor’s degree in International Law from the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia.
He is also certified as a Senior Human Resources Professional (SHRM-SCP) and a Registered Organisation Development Consultant, credentials that underscore his strong grounding in governance, human capital development and organisational effectiveness.
Announcing the appointment, United Nigeria Airlines said the inclusion of Prof. Madubuko on its Board reflects its commitment to broadening the diversity of experience and perspectives guiding the airline at the highest level, particularly as it pursues operational excellence and strategic expansion.
“In our continued efforts to strengthen our corporate governance structure and broaden the membership of our Board in line with our strategic expansion programme, we are pleased to welcome Prof. Madubuko to the Board of United Nigeria Airlines,” the airline stated. “His extensive experience, leadership depth and proven ability to drive transformation will be a significant asset to the company.”
In his response, Prof. Madubuko Tochukwu Victor expressed appreciation for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to work collaboratively with fellow Board members and management to advance the airline’s goals.
