Fidelity Bank Backs 2026 Young Innovators Camp to Boost STEM Education for Children
Fidelity Bank Plc has reaffirmed its commitment to youth development and education by sponsoring the 2026 Young Innovators Camp, a free educational programme designed to equip children with practical Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) skills needed to succeed in an increasingly technology-driven world.
The initiative, organised by MONAT, commenced on 20 July 2026 and is aimed at providing children between the ages of four and 10 with hands-on learning experiences that encourage creativity, innovation, critical thinking and problem-solving.
According to the organisers, the camp exposes participants to age-appropriate STEM concepts through guided practical sessions, interactive experiments and engaging activities designed to spark curiosity and inspire a passion for science and technology from an early age.
Beyond STEM education, the programme also features small-group learning sessions led by experienced facilitators, financial literacy classes, creative exercises and confidence-building activities intended to support the children’s overall personal development.
Speaking on Fidelity Bank’s sponsorship of the initiative, the Divisional Head, Brand and Communications, Fidelity Bank Plc, Dr Meksley Nwagboh, said the bank believes that preparing children for the future requires investing in their ability to think creatively, solve problems and embrace technological innovation.
According to him, the future will belong to individuals who can harness technology to improve lives, adding that such abilities should be nurtured from childhood.
He explained that the Young Innovators Camp offers children an opportunity to experience science, technology, engineering and mathematics in an enjoyable and practical environment that stimulates curiosity, builds confidence and encourages innovation.
Nwagboh noted that Fidelity Bank wants every child who participates in the programme to leave with the confidence that they have the potential not only to succeed in the future but also to contribute to shaping it.
He further described STEM education as a strategic investment in Nigeria’s future, stressing that today’s young learners would become tomorrow’s engineers, scientists, inventors, entrepreneurs and technology leaders.
He said the partnership with MONAT reflects Fidelity Bank’s commitment to developing a generation equipped with the knowledge, skills and mindset required to address real-world challenges, create opportunities and contribute meaningfully to national development.
According to him, the initiative goes beyond a conventional holiday programme, as it seeks to unlock children’s potential and inspire the next generation of innovators.
The bank said the Young Innovators Camp complements its broader corporate social responsibility agenda, particularly its sustained investments in education, youth empowerment, skills development and initiatives that improve access to opportunities for young Nigerians.
It also noted that the programme builds on existing education-focused interventions such as SWEETA, which supports children’s development, while reinforcing the bank’s long-term commitment to helping individuals and communities grow, thrive and prosper.
To further encourage learning beyond the camp, every participant will receive a specially curated gift pack containing educational resources and STEM learning materials that can be used at home to continue developing their interest in science and innovation.
Participation in the Young Innovators Camp is free, while parents and guardians are encouraged to register children aged between four and 10 years for future editions through the organisers’ registration platform.
