Air Peace Bolsters Fleet with Arrival of First Embraer 190, Eyes More Regional Connections

Nigeria’s largest carrier, Air Peace, has taken another significant leap in its expansion strategy with the arrival of its first Embraer 190 aircraft, further cementing its dominance in West Africa’s aviation landscape.
The 118-seater aircraft, with registration number 5N-CEF, landed at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos at precisely 7:38 p.m. on Sunday, 22 June 2025. This marks the first Embraer 190 to join the airline’s ever-growing fleet and signals a decisive shift in its operational capacity.
Speaking on the milestone, Air Peace spokesperson, Osifo-Whiskey Efe, said the newly inducted aircraft is tailored to support both the airline’s domestic and regional aspirations.
“This aircraft type brings a new dimension to our service offerings,” Efe stated. “It is designed for efficiency, eco-friendly installations, and passenger comfort, featuring a 2-2 seating configuration and a quiet, spacious cabin. It’s the perfect fit for many of our routes and allows us to connect more cities seamlessly while serving underserved destinations with the right capacity.”

He added that another Embraer 190 is expected to arrive in July, underscoring the airline’s aggressive but calculated growth trajectory as it aligns its fleet mix with demand patterns.
Air Peace, which currently operates over 30 aircraft, has built a reputation for operational reliability and passenger satisfaction.
According to recent data, the airline recorded an impressive 85% average on-time performance across its domestic network as of May 2025 – a figure Efe attributed to efficient fleet management and dedicated personnel.
The introduction of the Embraer 190, known for its fuel efficiency and operational flexibility, is part of a broader modernisation initiative aimed at enhancing connectivity across Nigeria and neighbouring countries.
Looking ahead to the third quarter, Air Peace is preparing to launch new domestic routes, deepen its regional footprint, and initiate further international operations.

The airline also reaffirmed its commitment to easing the challenges of air travel in Nigeria by continuously investing in aircraft that match its vision of comfort, reliability, and network growth.
As one of the few African carriers expanding its reach through strategic fleet development, Air Peace’s latest acquisition signals not only growth but also a deliberate focus on delivering value-driven air transport across the continent.
