Air Peace Charts Historic Course with First Nonstop Flight from Abuja to St. Kitts, Deepening Africa–Caribbean Links

Nigeria’s largest carrier, Air Peace, has completed a historic nonstop flight from Abuja to St. Kitts & Nevis, strengthening ties between the African continent and the Caribbean.
The flight, operated on 12 June 2025, marked the first-ever direct service from Nigeria to the twin-island federation, signalling a growing global footprint for the West and Central African airline.
The ten-hour transatlantic journey was powered by one of Air Peace’s Boeing 777 aircraft, departing from Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, and landing at Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport, Basseterre, to the welcome of Caribbean authorities and dignitaries.
The service was arranged in support of a Pan-African business conference being hosted in the Eastern Caribbean, and ferried Nigerian delegations – solidifying not only trade and cultural diplomacy but also aviation connectivity.
With this feat, Air Peace becomes the first Nigerian airline to register a dateline arrival on the St. Kitts & Nevis border, reinforcing its expanding influence in global aviation circles.
This is the third time in five years that Air Peace has broken new ground in the Caribbean. In December 2020, the airline made history with a direct 11-hour flight from Lagos to Montego Bay, Jamaica – the first of its kind.
Again, on 5 August 2023, it launched a special flight from Lagos to Antigua & Barbuda, ferrying investors and revellers attending the annual carnival, and becoming the first Nigerian carrier to land in the island nation.

These successive missions underscore a deliberate strategy to expand the airline’s intercontinental presence while positioning Nigeria as a credible hub for global air travel.
“Nigeria to the world – no stops, no limits,” has become the rallying cry from Air Peace’s command centre. The airline’s Chairman and CEO, Dr. Allen Onyema, has previously hinted at even more ambitious international plans.
In an April 2024 interview with Arise TV, he disclosed that Air Peace is in the final stages of acquiring additional long-haul aircraft to support expanding routes, including Abuja–London, New York, and Houston.
The Abuja–St. Kitts flight also adds a jewel to the airline’s transcontinental services which include the daily Lagos–London Gatwick route, launched on 30 March 2024, another historic milestone for a privately owned Nigerian airline.
The consistent deployment of the airline’s long-range Boeing 777 aircraft is not only a testament to its fleet capabilities but also reflects the airline’s strategic ambition to become a global bridge for African travellers and investors.

For observers of African aviation, Air Peace’s latest achievement is more than a celebratory moment – it is a signal of what African airlines can achieve when guided by vision, resilience, and strategic partnerships.
As Air Peace charts new courses across oceans and continents, it continues to redefine Nigeria’s presence in the global aviation arena – boldly, directly, and without limits.
