Air Peace Completes Fourth South Africa Evacuation, Repatriates 1,085 Nigerians

Air Peace has completed the fourth phase of its humanitarian evacuation operation from South Africa, bringing home another 284 Nigerian nationals as part of the Federal Government’s emergency response to the recent wave of xenophobic attacks in the country.

The latest evacuation flight, operated with the airline’s Boeing 777-200 wide-body aircraft, arrived in Nigeria on Thursday, marking the conclusion of the fourth evacuation mission undertaken by the carrier since the exercise began in June.

With the latest operation, Air Peace has successfully repatriated a total of 1,085 Nigerians across four evacuation flights carried out in collaboration with the Federal Government.

The airline had earlier evacuated 262 Nigerians on June 11, 271 on June 30 and another 268 on July 3 before transporting the latest batch of 284 returnees.

The exercise forms part of Nigeria’s ongoing efforts to assist citizens who sought voluntary evacuation following renewed xenophobic attacks and security concerns in parts of South Africa.

In a statement, Air Peace said the latest mission demonstrated its continued commitment to supporting national emergency response efforts by providing safe and seamless transportation for Nigerians in distress.

According to the airline, the successful completion of the fourth evacuation further highlights its readiness to deploy its fleet and operational capabilities whenever required in the national interest.

Air Peace described the operation as more than a routine airlift, saying it reflected the airline’s humanitarian philosophy built on compassion, patriotism and a commitment to ensuring that Nigerians stranded abroad can always find a safe route home during emergencies.

The airline noted that the South Africa evacuation has further strengthened its record of humanitarian interventions, adding that since it commenced operations, it has undertaken more than 16 evacuation and relief missions across Africa and other parts of the world.

These missions have included emergency repatriations, relief operations during humanitarian crises and other national interventions in support of the Federal Government.

Air Peace said it would continue to place its resources at the service of the country whenever the need arises.

“As Nigeria’s leading airline, Air Peace remains steadfast in its mission to connect people beyond destinations, delivering hope, restoring families and standing ready to answer the call whenever Nigerians need a way home,” the airline stated.

Air Peace has earned recognition in recent years for deploying its long-haul fleet during emergency situations, including evacuation missions for Nigerians caught in conflicts and humanitarian crises abroad.

The airline has consistently partnered with the Federal Government on such operations, reinforcing its role not only as a commercial carrier but also as a strategic partner in national emergency response.
