The October Fest, which kicked off on 31st August, 2024, was designed to promote teamwork, solidarity, and sportsmanship among Air Peace employees.

The month-long festival featured a highly competitive football tournament with eight male teams and a special novelty match for two female teams, bringing together staff from various stations across sub-Saharan Africa.

The competing male teams were:

Meanwhile, the female teams included: BUJ Amazons and BYF Angels.

Throughout the tournament, spectators were treated to a thrilling display of talent and sportsmanship, as participants exhibited determination and skill in their pursuit of victory.

In the male category, the BQQ Warriors clashed with the BXG Gunners in a fierce battle that ended 1-1 at full time.

The winner was decided through a tense penalty shootout, with the BXG Gunners emerging victorious and securing the title of champions.

The female category saw an equally gripping final, as the BUJ Amazons and BYF Angels faced off.

After a 1-1 draw in regular time, the BUJ Amazons triumphed during the penalties, claiming the championship in their division.

The victorious teams, alongside the 1st and 2nd runners-up in the male category and the 1st runners-up in the female category, received significant financial rewards.

Prizes were also distributed to the fans, who were awarded items such as international flight tickets, generator sets, washing machines, refrigerators, cash rewards, and other household appliances, adding to the celebratory atmosphere.

Speaking at the event, Air Peace’s CEO/Chairman, Dr. Allen Onyema, expressed his pride in the unity fostered by the October Fest and its role in celebrating the airline’s 10-year journey.
