Air Peace Expands Modern Fleet with Arrival of First Brand-New Embraer E175
Nigeria’s leading carrier, Air Peace, has strengthened its fleet with the arrival of its first brand-new Embraer E175, a move expected to enhance operational efficiency, improve passenger comfort and support the airline’s expanding domestic, regional and international network.
The aircraft landed at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport at 8:32 p.m. on Tuesday after completing a ferry flight from Brazil, where it was formally handed over to Air Peace officials by aircraft manufacturer Embraer following the completion of its production.
Registered as 5N-CGH, the 88-seat regional jet is the first factory-new Embraer E175 to be inducted into the airline’s fleet, highlighting Air Peace’s continued investment in modern, fuel-efficient aircraft as it seeks to expand connectivity across Nigeria, West Africa, Central Africa and other international destinations.
The latest acquisition forms part of the airline’s long-term fleet renewal strategy, which is aimed at operating younger aircraft capable of delivering greater reliability, lower operating costs and an enhanced travel experience for passengers.

Designed specifically for short- and medium-haul routes, the Embraer E175 features an 88-seat cabin in a two-by-two configuration, ensuring that no passenger is seated in a middle seat.
The aircraft also offers leather seats, ample legroom, larger overhead storage compartments and bigger windows, while its quieter cabin environment is intended to provide passengers with a more comfortable journey.
Beyond passenger convenience, the aircraft is expected to contribute to Air Peace’s environmental sustainability goals. Equipped with advanced aerodynamic technology and fuel-efficient engines, the E175 consumes less fuel, produces fewer carbon emissions and generates lower noise levels than many aircraft in its category.
Speaking on the arrival of the aircraft, Air Peace spokesman, Mr Efe Osifo-Whiskey, described the development as another milestone in the airline’s journey towards building one of the continent’s most modern fleets.
He said the addition of the aircraft represented more than an increase in fleet size, noting that it reflected the airline’s sustained investment in modern aviation equipment designed to improve efficiency, strengthen connectivity and enhance customer satisfaction.
According to him, the Embraer E175 is ideally suited for the airline’s domestic and regional operations because it provides the flexibility to serve existing routes more efficiently while enabling the airline to explore new markets with the right passenger capacity.

He added that the aircraft would enable Air Peace to improve schedule reliability, increase flight frequencies and provide passengers with a more comfortable travel experience.
Osifo-Whiskey further stated that as the airline continues to expand its network across Nigeria and other African destinations, the aircraft would help it respond to growing passenger demand while supporting regional integration, tourism development and economic growth through improved air connectivity.
Industry observers say the arrival of the aircraft reinforces Air Peace’s position as one of Africa’s fastest-growing airlines, with the carrier continuing to invest heavily in fleet expansion despite the challenging operating environment facing the aviation sector.
Over the years, the airline has consistently pursued fleet modernisation as part of its strategy to improve service delivery, strengthen operational resilience and increase its competitiveness in both the domestic and international markets.
With the induction of the new Embraer E175, Air Peace said it remains committed to providing safe, reliable and affordable air transport while raising service standards through world-class comfort, seamless connectivity and improved operational performance.
