Air Peace Flights Disrupted by Multiple Bird Strikes, Assures Passengers of Safety First
Air Peace has announced an unexpected disruption to its flight operations following multiple bird strike incidents affecting three of its aircraft within the past 24 hours.
In a statement signed by Dr Ejike Ndiulo, Head of Corporate Communications, the airline expressed regret over the inconvenience caused to passengers but emphasised that safety remains its utmost priority.
According to the statement, the first bird strike incident occurred yesterday, forcing an air return. Earlier today, two additional aircraft were also struck by birds, resulting in their grounding for thorough safety checks and necessary maintenance.
“As a safety-conscious airline, Air Peace prioritises the well-being of our passengers and crew above all else. In line with our strict safety protocols, we have immediately commenced the requisite inspections and maintenance procedures to ensure that the aircraft meet the highest safety standards before returning to service,” the statement read.
The airline reassured passengers that every decision made was with their safety in mind. It further stated that its team was actively reaching out to affected passengers to offer assistance, including rescheduling flights and providing alternative travel arrangements where possible.
Air Peace acknowledged the disruptions to travel plans and appealed for passengers’ patience and understanding while efforts to resolve the situation continued.
“We sincerely apologise to our esteemed customers for the inconvenience these disruptions may cause to their travel plans. While we work to resolve the situation as swiftly as possible, we kindly seek your patience and understanding,” the airline said.
