Air Peace Moves to Strengthen Security Following In-Flight Theft Incident
Nigeria’s Air Peace has reaffirmed its commitment to passenger safety and security following an incident of in-flight theft onboard Flight P47190 on Wednesday.
The airline has taken decisive measures to address the situation and prevent future occurrences.
According to a statement issued by Dr. Ejike Ndiulo, Head of Corporate Communications at Air Peace, a passenger was found in possession of a missing item during a thorough search upon landing at Port Harcourt International Airport (PHC).
The suspect was promptly handed over to the airport police for further investigation and appropriate action.
Air Peace expressed deep concern over the increasing cases of in-flight theft reported in recent weeks, describing it as a disturbing trend.
To tackle this menace, the airline has announced the implementation of enhanced surveillance measures across its flights.
Cabin crew members have been directed to intensify their vigilance throughout the journey, while in-flight announcements will be strengthened to remind passengers about safeguarding their belongings and reporting any suspicious activities immediately.
Furthermore, in line with its zero-tolerance policy on misconduct that threatens passenger safety and comfort, Air Peace has recommended the blacklisting of the suspect involved in the incident.
The airline reiterated its firm stance against criminal activities onboard its aircraft, emphasising that such actions would not be condoned.
