West and Central Africa’s largest carrier, Air Peace, and its Founder and Chairman, Dr. Allen Ifechukwu Onyema, have once again received top honours for their outstanding impact on Nigeria’s aviation and transport sectors.
The recognition came during the Nigerian Institute of Transport and Logistics (NITL) Annual Excellence Awards, held at the prestigious NICON Hotel, Abuja.
At the glittering ceremony, Air Peace was named “Airline of the Year”, while Dr. Onyema received the “Trailblazer Award in Transport and Logistics” – two of the night’s most coveted honours. The awards celebrate both corporate excellence and visionary leadership that continue to redefine the nation’s aviation industry.
Air Peace’s distinction as Airline of the Year highlights its consistent operational excellence, customer-centric innovations, and remarkable route expansion across domestic, regional, and international destinations.
The airline’s landmark Abuja–London Heathrow service, launched earlier this year, stood out as a key milestone. The historic route made Air Peace the first Nigerian carrier to operate direct flights between Nigeria’s capital city and the United Kingdom’s busiest airport – a move widely lauded for enhancing global connectivity, boosting trade, and projecting Nigeria’s aviation prowess on the world stage.
Similarly, Dr. Onyema’s Trailblazer Award underscores his visionary leadership and enduring contribution to the advancement of transport and logistics in Nigeria. His strategic foresight and unwavering dedication have not only expanded the nation’s aviation footprint but also positioned Air Peace as a symbol of national pride and innovation across Africa.
Accepting the honours, representatives of the airline commended the NITL for recognising excellence and reaffirmed Air Peace’s commitment to raising the bar in safety, service delivery, and network development.
