Nigeria’s Air Peace has issued a statement addressing concerns arising from recent legal charges filed by the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) against its Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Allen Ifechukwu Onyema, and Chief of Finance and Administration, Mrs Ejiro Eghagha.

The airline acknowledges media reports surrounding the charges and seeks to reassure its customers and the public that these developments will not disrupt its operations.

The charges, which relate to long-standing allegations of financial misconduct, have been expanded, but Air Peace stressed that these are still just accusations, and both Dr. Onyema and Mrs. Eghagha remain innocent until proven guilty.

The company reiterated that the matter is still before the courts, and both executives are fully cooperating with the legal process.

In the statement, the airline’s management affirmed their confidence in the legal system, noting that their legal team is diligently working to ensure that justice prevails.

“We remain confident that, through due process, the truth will be revealed, and our CEO and co-defendant will be exonerated,” the statement read.

Air Peace also reassured the public that its operations will continue unaffected, with the same high standard of service that its customers have come to expect.

The airline confirmed that Dr. Onyema and his legal team have consistently cooperated with authorities throughout the investigation, and the legal proceedings will not compromise the safety, reliability, or efficiency of its services.

The management thanked its loyal customers and the flying public for their ongoing support and understanding during this period.

The statement concluded by reaffirming Air Peace’s commitment to delivering excellent and reliable aviation services across Nigeria and beyond.

The airline’s operations remain fully functional, with its staff maintaining their focus on ensuring a seamless travel experience for passengers, regardless of the legal developments.
