…Airline Labels Social Media Reports as Malicious Attempt to Tarnish Reputation
Air Peace Limited has firmly debunked circulating social media reports alleging that one of its aircraft crashed in the Western Sahara region, resulting in fatalities, including the purported death of a prominent individual.
The airline categorically dismissed these claims as “false and malicious,” emphasising that no such incident has occurred.
In a statement signed by Dr Ejike Ndiulo, Head of Corporate Communications, Air Peace condemned the reports as a deliberate attempt to spread misinformation and tarnish the airline’s impeccable safety record.
Dr Ndiulo described the accusations as the work of a known purveyor of false and alarming information, stating:
“This is a deliberate attempt to spread misinformation and tarnish the impeccable safety record of Air Peace. The author of this post has a history of disseminating false and alarming information about non-existent tragic incidents.”
The airline further clarified that the images accompanying the false reports were AI-generated and bore no connection to any real event.
Air Peace urged the public to disregard these malicious claims and instead rely on official channels for accurate updates on its operations.
Reaffirming its commitment to passenger and crew safety, Air Peace underscored that safety is not merely a priority but a fundamental principle guiding all its activities.
“Air Peace remains committed to the highest safety standards and the well-being of our passengers and crew,” the statement read.
The airline has called on the public to remain vigilant against disinformation campaigns and assured its customers of continued safe and reliable operations.
