Airports ready for Eid-EL-Kabir travellers, FAAN assures

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has assured intending travellers and all airport users that all the nation’s airports under its management are fully ready for hitch-free flight operations during the Sallah break.

In a statement signed by the General Manager, Corporate Affairs, FAAN, Mrs. Henrietta Yakubu, the authority said those that would process flights through the Lagos Airport have nothing to worry about, assuring of “maximum security and comfort” for passengers.

“As part of our commitment to ensure seamless facilitation of our highly esteemed passengers during the Sallah celebrations and beyond, the VIP Protocol lounges at both the Murtala Muhammed International Airport and General Aviation Terminal, Lagos, have been refurbished to give maximum comfort and value to our customers.

Also, maintenance of conveyor belts and escalators at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos has been completed and functioning optimally.

In addition, airport security and other logistics have been upgraded and strengthened to provide for the expected increase in passenger traffic in and around our airports,” said FAAN.

The authority also disclosed that new directional display units have been installed at all its airports to guide travellers.

The authority, however, cautioned travellers to desist from prohibitive acts that threaten security at the airports.

“While we advise the general public and intending travellers to make early preparations towards completing their travel requirements in good time, we will also like to re-state that receiving of dignitaries at restricted areas by security agents and airport officials is prohibited and anyone found wanting will be apprehended and prosecuted,” it said.
