Arik Air Aircraft Grounding: NCAA Advises Passengers on Next Steps

The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has confirmed the grounding of Arik Air aircraft due to ongoing legal disputes.

This development has significantly affected the airline’s operations, leading to disruptions in scheduled flights and inconveniencing many intending passengers.

In an official statement signed by Michael Achimugu, Director, Consumer Protection and Public Affairs at NCAA, the agency acknowledged the gravity of the situation and assured the public that measures are in place to address the concerns of affected travellers.

The Authority emphasised that it is closely monitoring the situation and is in continuous engagement with Arik Air regarding their plans for affected passengers.

“Our Consumer Protection Officers are stationed at the terminals to oversee passenger handling and provide necessary information. We are committed to ensuring that passengers are well-informed and that their rights are protected as critical stakeholders in the aviation sector,” said NCAA.

Passengers facing difficulties are encouraged to visit the NCAA Consumer Protection offices at the terminals. There, they can identify and speak with NCAA officers for assistance.

Additionally, travelers can reach out via email at cpd@ncaa.gov.ng for further support.

The NCAA expressed empathy towards all affected passengers and reaffirmed its dedication to safeguarding their rights during this challenging period.

As the situation unfolds, the NCAA said it will continue to provide updates and work towards minimising the impact on travellers, while ensuring that all legal and safety standards are upheld.

For more information, passengers are urged to stay informed through official NCAA channels and to reach out for any needed assistance.
