Arik Air Resumes Operation as NCAA Facilitates Resolution with Atlas Petroleum
The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has facilitated a resolution to the recent dispute between Arik Air and Atlas Petroleum.
This resolution, overseen by the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has paved the way for the resumption of operations for Arik Air.
In a statement signed by Michael Achimugu, Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection at the NCAA, the agency stated that as a result of this resolution, two of the three Arik Air aircraft that were previously grounded have been given the green light by the NCAA to resume their flights as of today, Thursday, August 8, 2024.
The agency said passengers booked on Arik Air flights can now expect to see a return to normalcy at airport terminals nationwide, with check-ins already underway and flights set to resume.
The NCAA has reaffirmed its dedication to maintaining high standards of aviation safety and security.
The regulatory body also emphasised its ongoing commitment to enhancing the overall travel experience for passengers across the country.
In an official statement released by Captain Roy Ilegbodu, Chief Executive Officer of Arik Air Limited (in Receivership), the airline expressed its excitement to welcome passengers back on board.
“During our brief pause, we have been dedicated to ensuring a smooth and seamless return to service, preparing to welcome you back on board with the comfort and reliability you expect from us,” the statement read.
The resumption follows intensive efforts by the airline to upgrade its operations, with a focus on enhancing the overall customer experience.
“Our entire team has been working tirelessly to enhance your travel experience,” Captain Ilegbodu highlighted.
From the attentive ground staff to the highly trained flight crews, every member of the Arik Air team is reportedly ready and eager to serve passengers once again, whether they are traveling for business or leisure.
Acknowledging the challenges faced in recent times, Arik Air extended its gratitude to all stakeholders who played a vital role in resolving the issues that led to the temporary halt in operations.
The CEO emphasised that their support and cooperation were crucial in bringing the airline back to the skies.
The airline, which has been in receivership, said it remains committed to maintaining its reputation as a leading carrier in the region.
“We extend our gratitude to all the stakeholders who played a crucial role in resolving the recent impasse. Your support and cooperation have been instrumental in our return to the skies,” the statement concluded.
With the resumption of flights, Arik Air invites travellers to once again choose the airline for their journeys, promising a renewed dedication to safety, comfort, and excellence in service.
