BASL Declares Zero Tolerance for Unruly Behaviour at MMA2, Warns of Legal Consequences

Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Limited (BASL), the operator of Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal 2 (MMA2) in Lagos, has issued a stern warning against unruly and violent behaviour by passengers at its facility.

The management reiterated its zero-tolerance policy toward such conduct, emphasising that offenders would face strict legal action, including prosecution and potential blacklisting from flights.

This declaration follows a series of incidents involving passengers exhibiting aggressive behaviour due to frustrations arising from flight delays and cancellations.

While acknowledging the inconvenience such situations may cause, BASL urged passengers to channel their grievances through the appropriate avenues as stipulated in Part 19 of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Regulations (Nig.CARs).

These regulations outline the rights and responsibilities of passengers alongside the obligations of airlines, travel agents, and tour operators.

The management stated, “We remain committed to ensuring the safety, security, and well-being of all passengers, staff, and stakeholders. Unruly or violent actions within our terminal will not be tolerated under any circumstances.”

In line with this policy, BASL highlighted the measures in place to address inappropriate behaviour, including immediate reporting to security personnel for prompt intervention.

Passengers are also encouraged to cooperate with airport staff and exercise patience, particularly during the busy yuletide season.

The airport operator appealed for collective efforts to uphold a secure, respectful, and peaceful environment, urging the public to remember that maintaining decorum is integral to a seamless travel experience.

The management concluded with a plea for mutual respect and a reminder that any breach of these standards would be met with the full weight of the law.
