Biden Endorses Kamala Harris After Declining 2024 Presidential Nomination
President of the United States of America, Joe Biden, has offered his full endorsement to Vice President Kamala Harris in a post on social media platform X.
The President made this endorsement a few hours after he announced that he will not seek the Democratic nomination for the 2024 presidential election but would, instead, dedicate his remaining time in office to his presidential duties.
“My fellow Democrats,” Biden wrote, “I have decided not to accept the nomination and to focus all my energies on my duties as President for the remainder of my term.”
Biden reflected on his choice of running mate in the 2020 election, describing it as one of his best decisions. “My very first decision as the party nominee in 2020 was to pick Kamala Harris as my Vice President. And it’s been the best decision I’ve made,” he stated.
He further called for party unity in the upcoming election, rallying support for Harris. “Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year. Democrats — it’s time to come together and beat Trump. Let’s do this,” Biden urged.
This endorsement sets the stage for a significant campaign as Harris prepares to lead the Democratic charge against the anticipated Republican candidate, former President Donald Trump.
Biden’s decision underscores his confidence in Harris’s capabilities to contest against former President Donald Trump in the 2024 race.
