Comptroller Nwokorie Vows to Uphold Ojike’s Legacy as Leadership Changes at Kebbi Area Command
The Kebbi Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has witnessed a transition in leadership as Comptroller Iheanacho Ernest Ojike officially retired, handing over the reins to Comptroller Chidi Chukwumeziri Nwokorie in a grand ceremony held at the Command’s conference room on Thursday, 6 February 2025.
In his inaugural address, the newly appointed Comptroller Nwokorie emphasised professionalism, discipline, and adherence to the core mandates of the service.
He urged officers and men of the Command to uphold these principles as they discharge their duties within their respective Areas of Responsibility (AOR).
Comptroller Nwokorie expressed his gratitude to his predecessor for his outstanding contributions to the Command and assured stakeholders that he would not deviate from the established policies but rather build upon them to ensure continuity and further advancements.
He called for the unwavering cooperation of officers, sister agencies, and stakeholders in achieving the Command’s objectives.
Meanwhile, the outgoing Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Ojike, reflected on his tenure with appreciation, acknowledging the steadfast support he received from officers of the Command, sister security agencies, the Kebbi State Government, and various stakeholders.
He appealed to all parties to extend the same level of commitment and collaboration to his successor, Comptroller Nwokorie, to facilitate a seamless transition and sustained progress.
The handing-over ceremony was graced by top Customs officers and dignitaries, who delivered goodwill messages, reflecting on the exemplary service and leadership of the retiring Comptroller.
The event was marked by expressions of gratitude, commendations, and best wishes for both Comptroller Ojike in his retirement and Comptroller Nwokorie as he embarks on his new role.
