Daniel Dubois knocks out Anthony Joshua at Wembley on Saturday

In a thrilling showdown at Wembley, Daniel Dubois showcased his strength and skill, overpowering Anthony Joshua in a stunning five-round battle to retain his IBF world heavyweight title.

The 27-year-old champion displayed sheer dominance throughout the bout, winning all five rounds and knocking down Joshua on four separate occasions.

From the opening bell, Dubois took control, overwhelming Joshua, the two-time former unified heavyweight champion, with relentless attacks.

Dubois’ power proved too much for Joshua, who found himself on the canvas multiple times in the early rounds.

The fifth round brought high drama as Joshua momentarily stunned Dubois with two powerful right hands. Sensing an opportunity to turn the tide, Joshua pressed forward, but Dubois responded with a barrage of right hands, flooring his opponent once again.

This time, the 34-year-old Joshua was unable to beat the count, handing Dubois a decisive victory.

Following the bout, Dubois addressed the cheering crowd, exclaiming, “Are you not entertained? I’m a gladiator. I am a warrior to the bitter end. I want to get to the top level of this sport and reach my potential.”

Dubois’ rise to world champion status came earlier this year when Ukraine’s Oleksandr Usyk, who became the first boxer to hold all four major heavyweight belts in May, vacated the IBF title.

Usyk, who defeated Tyson Fury to unify the belts, opted for a rematch with Fury rather than facing mandatory IBF challenger Dubois.

In June, Dubois secured the interim IBF title before being officially elevated to world champion when Usyk relinquished the belt.

Dubois’ victory over Joshua solidifies his place among the elite in heavyweight boxing as he continues his pursuit of reaching the pinnacle of the sport.
