Decade of Influence: African Brands to Mark 10th Anniversary with Grand Celebration in Lagos

The African Brands, a trailblazer in brand journalism and intelligence across the continent, has announced plans to commemorate its 10th anniversary with a landmark celebration scheduled for 20th June 2025 at the prestigious Oriental Hotel, Lagos.

The event will mark a decade of impactful storytelling, strategic insights, and championing of African brands.

Established in 2015, The African Brands has grown into a trusted platform renowned for its flagship publication, The African Brands Magazine. Over the past ten years, the magazine has set itself apart as a leading authority on brand news, expert analysis, and market trends.

Its pioneering role in African brand journalism has provided invaluable case studies, highlighted innovation in branding and brand management, and offered forward-thinking perspectives on how leading companies navigate the continent’s complex business environment.

To commemorate this significant milestone, a high-level summit will form the centrepiece of the anniversary celebration.

Industry leaders, branding experts, and key stakeholders will convene to share insights and deliberate on strategies for sustainable brand growth, purpose-driven identity, strategic market engagement, and building enduring customer loyalty in Africa’s ever-evolving economic landscape.

A defining highlight of the celebration will be the official unveiling of The African Brands Group Ltd, a proprietary brand development holding company that will consolidate and streamline the organisation’s diverse operations.

The newly established group will oversee several strategic subsidiaries including: the African Brands Media Ltd, which comprises The African Brands Television, The African Brands Magazine, and The African Brands Radio Africa.

Others include The African Brands Academy, ESG Impact Consulting, the Brands Report Publication Ltd, and the Institute of Brand Management of Nigeria (IBMN).

As part of the celebration, a prestigious recognition ceremony will honour outstanding African brands that have shown remarkable performance, innovation, and influence across the continent.

Awards will be presented in several key categories: The Most Innovative Brands, celebrating creative and trailblazing developments in branding, The Most Valuable Brands, recognising those with significant market influence and commercial success, The Most Admired Brands, honouring iconic names that exemplify consumer trust and brand excellence, and The Fast Growth Brands, acknowledging companies demonstrating rapid expansion, resilience, and market penetration.

The 10th anniversary celebration is not merely a reflection on past accomplishments but a launchpad for the next phase of innovation and excellence.

The African Brands has reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing Africa’s brand ecosystem, delivering cutting-edge insights, and highlighting the stories that continue to shape the continent’s business future.

As June 2025 approaches, anticipation is building for what promises to be a landmark event that underscores The African Brands’ enduring impact over the past decade — and its bold vision for the years ahead.
