EgyptAir Hosts Product Sensitisation Workshop, Honours Top Travel Agents for 2023/2024
EgyptAir, one of Africa’s pioneering and globally recognised airlines, organised a comprehensive product sensitisation and destination marketing workshop for travel agents at Lagos’s Sheraton Hotel on 26 September 2024.
The event aimed to strengthen EgyptAir’s relationship with its Nigerian partners while promoting Egypt as an alluring destination for diverse travel needs.
The workshop saw attendance from prominent figures, including Mr. Amr Basha, EgyptAir’s Country Manager, alongside top executives from Elite Tours and Master Group Egypt.
Mr. Mohamed Farahat, General Manager Investment, Master Group Egypt; Mr. Hisham Attia, Tour Manager of Master Travels; Mr. Muharram Abdel Rahman, General Manager of Elite Tours; and Mr. Yinka Olapade, Vice President of the Lagos Zone, NANTA, were amongst the esteemed guests present.
In his welcome address, Mr. Amr Basha expressed EgyptAir’s dedication to maintaining world-class services.
“As a leading airline, our promise is to ensure that we offer world-class services to our esteemed customers, providing the best of Egyptian hospitality by taking you safely to your destination while you sit back, relax, and enjoy the sky,” he said.
Emphasising the importance of collaborative relationships with travel agents, Basha added, “Today’s event is aimed at strengthening the relationship we have with our stakeholders and partners, so we can better understand any challenges and address them effectively.”
EgyptAir’s Sales Executive, Miss Faith Obazee, led a detailed presentation covering the airline’s brand values, recent route expansions, fleet updates, and popular tourist destinations in Egypt.
She also discussed EgyptAir’s frequent flyer programmes and codeshare partnerships, enhancing the airline’s seamless travel experience for customers worldwide.
An interactive question-and-answer session followed, allowing participants to clarify various aspects of ticketing, visa processing, and transit requirements.
EgyptAir’s Station Manager, Mr. Mohammed Afifi, underscored the importance of Yellow Fever Cards for travellers transiting through Egypt for over 12 hours, offering guidance on common travel challenges encountered by passengers for tourism, education, medical, or business purposes.
The event also showcased EgyptAir’s commitment to destination marketing through a hospitality session introduced by Mr. Muharram Abdel Rahman.
“In 2023, EgyptAir took a strategic step to deepen its market reach by partnering with a General Sales Agent (GSA) in Nigeria.
“My experience with the Nigerian market, both as Abuja Office Manager and General Manager for Lagos, provides invaluable insight as we aim to deliver exceptional services to our customers,” Rahman explained.
Attendees were captivated by a series of video presentations led by Mr. Hisham Attia, highlighting Egypt’s top tourist attractions, from the famed Dream Resort in Sharm El Sheikh and the Pyramids of Giza to the historic sites of Aswan and Hurghada, along with unique experiences like boat cruises and quad biking adventures.
The day concluded with an award ceremony recognising EgyptAir’s top travel agents for their contributions over the 2023/2024 financial year.
Wakanow claimed the title of EgyptAir’s most outstanding travel agent, with Satguru and Finchglow Travels following closely in second and third places.
In the top twenty agents, Aeroland Travels took 11th place, with Good News and Travel Beta securing 12th and 13th spots, respectively.

Recognising your efforts today underscores the critical role you play in our success.”
EgyptAir’s workshop in Lagos not only honoured its top agents but also reinforced its commitment to delivering outstanding hospitality and expanding tourism in Egypt through its Nigerian partners.
