Emirates, Air Peace Strengthen Partnership with New Interline Agreement, Expanding Africa–UAE–UK Travel Options

Emirates, the world’s largest international airline, and Air Peace, West Africa’s largest carrier, have formally activated a bilateral interline agreement aimed at enhancing travel connectivity between Africa, the United Arab Emirates, and the United Kingdom.

The collaboration promises passengers a seamless travel experience, combining regional reach with global destinations.

Through the agreement, travellers on both airlines can now enjoy single-ticket journeys with through-checked baggage on selected routes, eliminating the inconvenience of separate bookings and transfers.

The move is expected to provide greater comfort, convenience, and efficiency for passengers across both carriers’ networks. Previously, Emirates passengers could access 13 Nigerian cities on Air Peace’s domestic network via Lagos.

The enhanced interline agreement now opens up additional West African destinations, including Banjul in The Gambia and Dakar in Senegal via Abidjan, as well as Freetown in Sierra Leone and Monrovia in Liberia via Accra.

These new connections enable a broader range of African travellers to tap into Emirates’ extensive international network and premium services.

For Air Peace passengers, the agreement offers direct access to Emirates’ Dubai hub, as well as key international destinations such as London Heathrow, London Gatwick, and London Stansted.

African travellers gain increased flexibility and connectivity, facilitating smoother journeys for business, leisure, and tourism between Nigeria and the United Kingdom and beyond.

Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer, highlighted the significance of the expanded partnership.

“Our strengthened interline agreement with Air Peace allows us to broaden our presence across Africa, providing more opportunities for people to travel comfortably with Emirates, while encouraging international tourism to the region through Lagos,” he said. “We remain committed to strategic partnerships that reinforce Nigeria’s aviation, tourism, and trade sectors.”

Nowel Ngala, Chief Commercial Officer at Air Peace, described the development as a strategic milestone. “This agreement represents a major step in Air Peace’s vision to connect Africa efficiently to global markets. By integrating our extensive regional network with Emirates’ worldwide reach, we offer passengers seamless travel, improved convenience, and enhanced access to key international destinations,” Ngala stated. “It further strengthens our role as a bridge between Africa and the global aviation industry.”

Emirates operates a Boeing 777-300ER on its Dubai–Lagos route, providing passengers with an award-winning inflight experience that includes multi-course menus inspired by regional cuisines, an extensive selection of beverages, and over 6,500 entertainment options, including Nollywood classics, via the airline’s acclaimed ice system.

As one of only two carriers offering a First Class cabin into Nigeria, Emirates delivers a travel experience marked by luxury, privacy, and comfort.

Air Peace continues to expand its fleet of over 50 aircraft, including Boeing 777s, Boeing 737s, and Embraer jets, serving domestic, regional, and international routes.

The airline remains committed to strengthening intra-African connectivity, supporting trade and tourism, and contributing to the continent’s economic growth.

Tickets for journeys under the Emirates–Air Peace interline agreement are now available for booking through emirates.com, flyairpeace.com, and authorised travel agents.

Current Nigerian destinations on Air Peace’s network available to Emirates passengers via Lagos include Asaba, Abuja, Akure, Benin City, Calabar, Enugu, Ilorin, Kaduna, Kano, Port Harcourt, Owerri, Warri, and Uyo.
