Ethiopian Airlines, Africa’s largest and most decorated airline, has once again affirmed its dominance in the global aviation industry, securing two prestigious international accolades at renowned events held in Hamburg, Germany.

The airline was crowned winner of the ‘Outstanding Food Service by a Carrier – Africa’ at the 2025 PAX Readership Awards and earned the Bronze Award in the ‘Cabin Concept of the Year 2025’ category at the Onboard Hospitality Awards.

This marks the third time Ethiopian Airlines has received the honour for its exceptional onboard catering, underscoring its consistency in delivering high-quality inflight meal services that resonate with both passengers and industry professionals.

The recognition affirms the airline’s reputation for blending Ethiopian hospitality with a world-class culinary experience.

In addition, the airline’s innovative Airbus A350-1000 cabin design earned it the Bronze distinction in the highly competitive ‘Cabin Concept of the Year’ category.

The cutting-edge cabin is celebrated for its harmonious fusion of aesthetics, comfort, and technology. It features a spacious layout, larger windows for panoramic views, advanced mood lighting, and whisper-quiet cabins across all classes.

The cabin is further enhanced with the AVANT Up Inflight Entertainment (IFE) system offering 4K displays, Bluetooth connectivity, and real-time landscape camera views.

Each seat is equipped with 70W fast-charging ports, while eco-conscious amenity kits, complete with sustainable bamboo brushes, sleep aids, eye masks, and nourishing lip balms, reflect the airline’s commitment to environmental responsibility.

Central to the airline’s culinary excellence is its state-of-the-art catering facility in Addis Ababa. Capable of producing up to 100,000 meals daily, the expansive facility caters not only to Ethiopian Airlines’ scheduled and non-scheduled flights but also serves customer airlines, charter operations, and VVIP flights.

The kitchens are manned by an international team of chefs and include a fully certified Halal Kitchen, ensuring compliance with global dietary standards.

These latest achievements add to Ethiopian Airlines’ impressive catalogue of awards, further solidifying its status as a global leader in aviation service excellence.
