Ethiopian Airlines Expands European Network with New Porto Route

Ethiopian Airlines, Africa’s largest airline and one of the world’s fastest-growing carriers, has announced the launch of a new passenger flight service to Porto, Portugal, commencing on 2 July 2025.
The new route, which will operate four times weekly, includes a single stop in Madrid, Spain, and is part of the airline’s strategic expansion across Europe.
The new service aims to enhance travel options and improve connectivity for passengers travelling between Africa and Portugal.
Ethiopian Airlines will deploy its state-of-the-art Boeing 787 Dreamliner for the route, ensuring a comfortable and efficient journey.
Flight Schedule:
Flight ET740 will depart Addis Ababa on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays at 23:10, arriving in Madrid at 05:55 the next day. It will then depart Madrid on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at 06:55, arriving in Porto at 07:15.
Flight ET741 will depart Porto on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at 19:55, arriving in Madrid at 21:10. It will then depart Madrid at 23:10, reaching Addis Ababa at 07:25 the following day.

Ethiopian Airlines already provides flight services to Lisbon, Portugal, through codeshare flights via London, Milan, and other major cities.
With an extensive European network, the airline currently operates approximately 140 weekly passenger flights to 22 destinations across the continent and serves 8 cargo destinations in Europe.
By adding Porto to its network, Ethiopian Airlines strengthens its presence in the region and reinforces economic, cultural, and travel links between Africa, Portugal, and beyond.
