Ethiopian Airlines expands reach with new passenger service to Freetown via Ouagadougou

Ethiopian Airlines, Africa’s largest carrier, has announced the launch of thrice weekly passenger service to Freetown, Sierra Leone via Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, commencing on May 31, 2024.

The airline said this significant expansion underscores its commitment to enhancing connectivity across the African continent, offering travellers convenient and efficient travel options.

Operated using the latest Boeing 787-800 aircraft, the new route promises a modern and eco-friendly travel experience, featuring spacious seats, personal entertainment systems, and onboard Wi-Fi.

The flight schedule for the new service is as follows:

– ET 943: Addis Ababa (ADD) – Ouagadougou (OUA) – Freetown (FNA) – Tues, Thurs, Sat

– ET 942: Freetown (FNA) – Ouagadougou (OUA) – Addis Ababa (ADD) – Wed, Fri, Sun

Mr. Mesfin Tasew, CEO of Ethiopian Airlines Group, expressed enthusiasm for the new route, stating, “We are delighted to expand our West Africa network with the addition of Freetown, Sierra Leone. This new route will not only provide our passengers with more travel options but also facilitate increased tourism, trade, and investment opportunities between Ethiopia, Sierra Leone, and Burkina Faso.”
