Ethiopian Airlines Honoured with ‘Outstanding Tourism Transportation Award’
Ethiopian Airlines has been recognised with the prestigious ‘Outstanding Tourism Transportation Award’ at the 2024 Africa Tourism Leadership Forum (ATLF), held in Gaborone, Botswana.
The award celebrates organisations that deliver exceptional transportation services to tourists across Africa, with a strong focus on sustainability and environmental responsibility.
This accolade underscores Ethiopian Airlines’ status as a leading transportation provider, serving both popular and remote destinations on the continent.
The airline’s remarkable ability to offer reliable, efficient, and sustainable travel experiences has cemented its position as a vital connector for tourism in Africa.
In accepting the award, the airline’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr Mesfin Tasew, emphasised the company’s long-standing commitment to service excellence and environmental stewardship.
“This recognition validates our unwavering commitment to providing our passengers with the highest quality of service and fostering sustainable tourism across Africa.
“As a Pan-African and the largest network operator in Africa, our vision has always been to connect Africa to the world, and the world to Africa, and this recognition from ATLF encourages us to set the bar even higher,” he remarked.
Ethiopian Airlines’ expansive global network, coupled with its innovative sustainability initiatives, played a key role in securing this recognition.
The airline continues to be a trailblazer in connecting African tourism hotspots with the rest of the world, thereby supporting the growth of the continent’s travel and tourism industries.
The Africa Tourism Leadership Forum serves as a premier Pan-African platform for the exchange of ideas among key stakeholders in travel, tourism, hospitality, and aviation. It promotes strategies aimed at increasing intra-African travel and enhancing the global brand image of “Destination Africa.”
The ATLF Awards stand as the first Pan-African awards to acknowledge excellence and innovation driven by Africans within the travel and tourism sectors.
Ethiopian Airlines, through its subsidiary Ethiopian Holidays, also plays a vital role in promoting tourism by offering travel packages that leverage its extensive destination network, further reinforcing the symbiotic relationship between tourism and air transport.
This latest accolade solidifies Ethiopian Airlines’ position as a leader in the aviation and tourism sectors, with its forward-thinking approach to service and sustainability continuing to garner international acclaim.
