Ethiopian Airlines Partners Nucore Technologies to Accelerate Digital Transformation, B2B Distribution

Ethiopian Airlines Group, Africa’s leading carrier, has signed a strategic partnership agreement with Nucore Technologies to strengthen its digital transformation drive and enhance its business-to-business (B2B) distribution capabilities.

The collaboration represents a major milestone in the airline’s efforts to modernise its commercial systems and align with global industry standards in airline retailing.

Nucore Technologies is a specialist provider of advanced software solutions for back-office automation, integration, reporting and analytics, serving travel agencies, online travel agencies (OTAs), aggregators and corporate customers.

Through the partnership, Ethiopian Airlines is positioning B2B distribution as a core strategic focus, while empowering its partners with seamless access to direct airline content and data-driven tools designed for scalability and future growth.

Central to the collaboration is the adoption of New Distribution Capability (NDC)-enabled distribution, which allows partners to access richer content directly from the airline. This includes enhanced fare options, ancillary services and bundled products, supported by improved data transparency through out-of-the-box integrations and robust analytics.

The initiative is expected to improve efficiency, visibility and commercial performance for travel partners across global markets.

Commenting on the agreement, the ET Holiday & Digital/GCIC Sales Area Vice President, Bilen Arefaine, said Ethiopian Airlines remained committed to driving digital transformation across its services.

According to him, the partnership with Nucore Technologies further strengthens the airline’s digital footprint by enabling partners to gain seamless access to Ethiopian Airlines’ direct content.

“Through this collaboration, our partners can access NDC-based offers, ancillary services and hotel packages, all supported by multiple payment options via our Agency Portal,” Arefaine stated. “Ethiopian Airlines will continue to lead the industry in digital transformation through NDC adoption and close collaboration with industry leaders to build a connected, future-ready distribution ecosystem.”

At the heart of the partnership is Ethiopian Airlines’ Agency Portal, a robust digital platform designed to serve travel agencies, aggregators and corporate customers.

The portal currently supports more than 2,000 active customers across over 100 stations worldwide, providing extensive market reach and global coverage for the airline’s products and services.

The Agency Portal is also supported by 24/7 commercial and technical assistance from Ethiopian Airlines, ensuring that partners receive timely support to meet both operational and business requirements.

With the integration of Nucore Technologies’ solutions, the platform will be further enhanced with advanced reporting and analytics capabilities, enabling partners to gain deeper insights into sales performance, customer behaviour and operational trends.

The partnership underscores Ethiopian Airlines’ broader strategy to embrace modern airline retailing, strengthen digital partnerships and create a more agile and data-driven distribution environment.

By combining its global network and operational scale with Nucore’s technology expertise, the airline aims to deliver greater value to its partners while reinforcing its leadership position in Africa’s aviation sector and beyond.
