Ethiopian’s Shimeles Arage appointed new General Manager, Nigeria
Ethiopian Airlines has appointed Mr. Shimeles Arage as the new country General Manager in Nigeria.
The airline announced that with this appointment, Arage will take over operations of its businesses from Mrs. Firihiewot Mekonnen, who has been reassigned to serve in Frankfurt, Germany as Manager.
Before his appointment, Arage was the Regional Manager in Singapore, Australia, and New Zealand, TW gathered.
He once served in Equatorial Guinea and also as Director, Revenue Management at the Head Office in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Mr. Arage has a BA Degree in Economics and an MBA degree. He is well-grounded in the aviation industry, having acquired training in numerous aviation courses globally and in Ethiopia.
He is a tested and trusted Manager who comes to Nigeria with a wealth of experience.
Ethiopian Airlines has a standard for operational integrity, which has given it an edge above other airlines in Africa.
With the youngest and largest fleet, Ethiopian Airlines has a route network in Nigeria that links Abuja, Lagos, Kano, and Enugu.
The airline has been flying to Nigeria since her Independence in 1960, TW has gathered.
It was the first international airline to fly to Enugu Airport, and the only international airline to fly to Kaduna Airport when Abuja Airport was closed in 2018.
The airline also has a chain of international routes that emanate from Nigeria and has kept its customers confident with regards to on-time departures, respect for safety guidelines, and excellent customer care.
