FAAN Announces Temporary Power Shutdown at Lagos Airport for Maintenance
The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has announced a temporary shutdown of power supply to the International Terminal 2 (ITZ-2) at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.
The disruption, scheduled to occur from 1:00 am to 4:30 am on Saturday, 16th November 2024, is necessary to facilitate the replacement of the Bus Riser 11KVA high-tension panel.
The maintenance activity is part of FAAN’s commitment to ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of airport facilities.
In a statement signed by Mrs Obiageli Orah, Director, Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, the Authority assured stakeholders and passengers that the shutdown would be carried out with minimal disruption to flight operations and passenger facilitation.
Royal Air Maroc, the only airline operating during the scheduled maintenance period, will be temporarily relocated to International Terminal 1 (ITZ-1) for check-in and arrival formalities.
FAAN has assured that all affected airlines, security agencies, and concessionaires have been adequately informed to ensure seamless adjustments during the maintenance window.
“We regret any inconvenience this may cause to our stakeholders and passengers. The safety and security of all airport users remain paramount in our considerations,” said Mrs Obiageli Orah, Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection at FAAN.
The Authority reaffirmed its dedication to providing high-quality services and maintaining operational excellence across all Nigerian airports.
Passengers are encouraged to plan accordingly and contact their airlines for further updates on specific flight arrangements.
