The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has announced the elevation of two seasoned professionals within its ranks.

Mrs. Ijeoma Blessing Nwosu-Igbo and Mrs. Christabel Ebanehita Eromosele have been promoted to the positions of General Manager, Public Affairs, and General Manager, Protocol and Passages, respectively.

This announcement was confirmed in a document released by the Directorate of Public Affairs & Consumer Protection, which stated that both appointments took effect from June 2024, following the duo’s outstanding performance in the mandatory management promotion examinations.

Mrs. Ijeoma Blessing Nwosu-Igbo, who had been serving in an acting capacity since December 2023, brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record to her new role.

Having joined FAAN in 2002 as a Senior Public Affairs Officer on Grade Level 10, Nwosu-Igbo has demonstrated unparalleled dedication and expertise in managing the public image of the country’s airport management agency.

Her stewardship has been marked by her deft handling of FAAN’s communication strategies, earning the agency recognition as one of Africa’s leading aviation authorities.

An alumna of the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT) Enugu, where she graduated in 1987 with a Higher National Diploma in Mass Communication, Mrs. Nwosu-Igbo also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Management and an MBA from the University of Calabar.

Her extensive professional journey includes significant local and international training, which has further sharpened her skills as a Public Relations expert.

Nwosu-Igbo is also known for her talents beyond the office, particularly in writing and choral music, where she has made notable contributions as the Managing Editor of FAAN’s in-house publication, NEWSTRACK, since 2018.

Similarly, Mrs. Christabel Ebanehita Eromosele’s promotion to General Manager, Protocol and Passages, reflects her dedication and professional growth over the years. Eromosele, who had been acting in the role since January 2024, officially took on the position in June, following a distinguished career that began in FAAN’s Public Affairs department in 1993.

A graduate of English Language from Ambrose Alli University and a holder of a Master’s degree in Public and International Affairs from the University of Lagos, Eromosele has steadily climbed the ranks through hard work, professionalism, and a commitment to excellence.

Her involvement in various key committees, including the FAAN National Aviation Committee and the ACI International Conference Planning Committee, underscores her role as a leader within the organization.

Eromosele has also enhanced her expertise through a range of specialized training programs, both within Nigeria and internationally.

Noteworthy among these are the Public Relations Theory and Practice Course by GTC Group in London, the Business Leadership and Diplomatic Protocol Course by the European School of Protocol, and the Crisis Communication Course sponsored by the UK Government.

Both Mrs. Nwosu-Igbo and Mrs. Eromosele’s appointments are a testament to their exemplary service and leadership within FAAN.

Their new roles are expected to further strengthen the agency’s public relations and protocol operations, ensuring that FAAN continues to maintain its standing as a responsible airport authority with avid interest in the comfort of passengers and other airport users.
