FAAN, ICAN forge stronger collaboration for professional excellence

The Managing Director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku, advocates for enhanced collaboration between FAAN and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), emphasising the role of over 100 accountants within FAAN in upholding transparency and integrity.

During a visit by the 59th President of ICAN, Dr. Innocent Okwuossa, and his team to FAAN headquarters at the Murtala Muhammed Airport (MMA), Lagos, Kuku highlighted the unwavering dedication of FAAN’s accountants in executing their duties with commitment, accuracy, and ethical conduct.

Kuku underscored the importance of fostering a robust partnership between FAAN and ICAN, acknowledging ICAN’s significant contributions to professional development in accounting nationwide. 

She expressed FAAN’s commitment to aligning with international standards for airport services while maintaining utmost transparency, accountability, and integrity.

In response, ICAN’s President commended FAAN’s commitment to excellence and expressed the institute’s willingness to collaborate with FAAN on capacity building initiatives. 

He acknowledged Kuku’s historic appointment as the first female Managing Director of FAAN, citing her as an inspiration for women in leadership positions.

Furthermore, the ICAN President recognised FAAN’s vital role in aviation infrastructure development, attributing the sector’s safety record to FAAN’s efforts. 

He called for FAAN’s continued support in training ICAN members within the agency and advocated for agency’s sponsorship of members to ICAN’s upcoming annual conference and other international events.

The visit witnessed the presence of FAAN directors alongside the ICAN visiting team, led by President Dr. Innocent Okwuossa, showcasing the shared commitment to fostering collaboration and professional development between the two institutions.
