FAAN Reaffirms Transparency, Meritocracy in Employment Processes

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has assured its workforce, stakeholders, and the Nigerian public of its unwavering dedication to professionalism, transparency, and strict adherence to statutory standards governing its human-resource and administrative systems.

In a statement signed by Henry Agbebire, Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection at FAAN, and issued in on 30th November 2025, FAAN emphasised that its recruitment, placement, and career-progression procedures remain firmly rooted in established regulations designed to promote equity, competence, and organisational efficiency.

The Authority added that it maintains a strong culture of due process and will not deviate from frameworks that ensure fairness and meritocracy across all cadres.

According to the release, the Managing Director has authorised an additional internal review to address employment-related concerns recently brought to management’s attention.

The review aims to strengthen clarity in the application of policies, ensure uniformity, and reinforce trust in staff-progression systems. It is also expected to help the management identify gaps and enhance existing structures where necessary.

FAAN underscored that no employee is compelled to alter or suppress their qualifications at any stage of the recruitment process. All engagements, it stressed, are based strictly on advertised positions, set requirements, and voluntary submissions by applicants.

Where adjustments or policy reviews become necessary, FAAN pledged that such matters would be handled responsibly and in full alignment with public-service standards.

The Authority also reiterated its zero-tolerance stance on workplace misconduct – including harassment, intimidation, and abuse of office. It noted that its internal systems for reporting, investigating, and resolving such issues remain active, confidential, and strictly enforced to protect staff welfare and dignity.

Any behaviour inconsistent with FAAN’s values, the statement added, is thoroughly investigated and addressed through established disciplinary procedures.

FAAN further restated its commitment to fostering a work environment that rewards integrity, respects hierarchy, encourages growth, and promotes professionalism across all operational areas – including Aviation Security (AVSEC), Aviation Rescue and Firefighting Services (ARFFS), and other critical departments.

Management expressed appreciation for the dedication of all staff and urged continued cooperation, dialogue, and adherence to due process as the Authority works towards transforming itself into a world-class airport-service provider.
