Kaduna Customs Deepens Inter-Agency Collaboration to Boost Security, Operational Efficiency
The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Kaduna Area Command, has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening collaboration and enhancing operational synergy with sister security and law enforcement agencies across Kaduna State, as part of efforts to improve national security and service delivery.
The renewed resolve was underscored during a series of courtesy visits by the Customs Area Controller (CAC), Comptroller Sa’ad Garba Hassan, to heads of key security agencies within the state.
The engagements were aimed at reinforcing cooperation, promoting intelligence sharing and consolidating joint operational effectiveness in the face of evolving security challenges.
During separate meetings with the Commissioner of Police, Kaduna State Command, CP Muhammad Rabiu; the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 1 Division of the Nigerian Army, Kaduna, Major General ASM Wase; the State Director of the State Security Service (SSS), Mr Hakeem Abiola, fsi; the Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Kaduna State Command, Corps Commander Tijjani Yusuf; the Zonal Director of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Kaduna Zonal Directorate, Mr Usman Bawa Kaltungo; and the State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kaduna Command, Commandant Panam Musa Buba, Comptroller Hassan stressed the strategic importance of inter-agency cooperation.

He noted that the Nigeria Customs Service cannot operate in isolation, particularly at a time when the nation continues to grapple with complex security threats, organised smuggling networks, economic sabotage and broader risks to public safety.
According to him, sustained collaboration among security agencies remains critical to achieving intelligence-driven enforcement, enhanced operational success and improved service delivery to Nigerians.
The Customs Area Controller commended the various agencies for their long-standing partnership with the Kaduna Area Command, acknowledging their consistent support in joint operations, intelligence exchange, personnel protection and crisis response.
He called for further strengthening of the existing synergy to ensure seamless cooperation and greater operational impact in areas of shared responsibility.
In their responses, the heads of the respective agencies applauded Comptroller Hassan for his proactive approach to deepening inter-agency relations.

They pledged their continued support to the Nigeria Customs Service and expressed readiness to explore new areas of collaboration, enhance intelligence sharing and participate in joint operations aimed at safeguarding national security and promoting economic growth.
Comptroller Hassan further assured that the Kaduna Area Command would continue to pursue partnerships that promote legal trade facilitation, strengthen border management, enhance national security and contribute to the country’s economic stability.
He reiterated the Command’s commitment to sustaining strong institutional relationships anchored on trust, professionalism and mutual respect.
The visit, observers say, reflects the NCS’s broader strategy of leveraging inter-agency cooperation as a key tool in addressing security and economic challenges across the country.
