MMA2 Experiences Temporary Water Leakage Amid Unusual Rainfall

The Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal 2 (MMA2), operated by Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Limited, experienced a temporary water leakage into the ticketing hall on Tuesday due to an unexpected combination of heavy rainfall and abnormal wind patterns.
According to a statement signed by Ajoke Yinka-Olawuyi, Head, Corporate Communications at BASL, the unusual weather conditions directed rainwater toward structural elements of the building that had previously remained unaffected.
This created pressure conditions that forced water through weatherproofing systems that had performed adequately in past weather events.
The terminal maintenance department responded promptly, swiftly commencing water removal operations, which have now been completed.
BASL said the affected area has been fully restored, and the terminal remains open and fully operational.
The company further assured the public that a comprehensive facility assessment is already underway to mitigate the risk of similar incidents occurring in the future, particularly during extreme weather conditions.
