MMA2 Lights Up for Christmas as BASL, Wema Bank Usher in Festive Cheer

Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Limited (BASL), operators of the Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal Two (MMA2), has officially kicked off the 2025 Christmas season with a colourful Light-Up ceremony, held in partnership with MBR Signature Events and Entertainment Company and proudly sponsored by Wema Bank.

The event, which drew passengers, airport users, partners, and invited guests, transformed the terminal into a vibrant festive space, signalling the start of Yuletide celebrations at Nigeria’s premier privately managed airport terminal.

Welcoming attendees, the Acting Chief Operating Officer and Head of Space & Premises Management, Mr Kola Bamigboye, expressed delight at hosting this year’s ceremony.

He announced Wema Bank as the official sponsor of the 2025 Christmas festivities at MMA2, commending the bank for joining hands with BASL and MBR Signature to enrich the passenger experience.

He noted that MBR Signature and its partners have consistently brought “colour, creativity, and warmth” to MMA2 during the festive period, adding that Wema Bank’s involvement has further elevated this year’s celebrations.

According to him, the collaboration reflects BASL’s commitment to enhancing customer satisfaction and creating memorable moments for all who pass through the terminal.

This year’s Light-Up event featured special Christmas carols and musical performances, filling the terminal with a warm and joyful ambience that delighted travellers and visitors alike.

Performing the symbolic lighting of the terminal, Mrs Mabel Adekeye, Head of Brand and Marketing at Wema Bank, said the bank was excited to bring the Christmas spirit closer to the travelling public.

She thanked BASL for the partnership and reaffirmed the bank’s dedication to creating meaningful engagements that enhance customer experience.

In his remarks, the Acting Chief Operating Officer and Head of Aeronautics & Cargo Services, Mr Remi Jibodu, appreciated the airlines and passengers who have continued to support BASL by choosing MMA2 throughout the year.

He explained that the annual Light-Up was a moment for the terminal to pause, reflect, and celebrate its valued community.

He added that “Detty December truly begins here at MMA2, the gateway to the festive experience,” emphasising that the partnership with MBR Signature paved the way for Wema Bank’s generous sponsorship of the decorations and festivities.

Also speaking, Mrs Olutayo Oladipo, Group Head, High-Value Segment & Diaspora Banking at Wema Bank, stated that the bank was “fully ready for Detty December” and had chosen the airport as the perfect location for its festive campaign.

She encouraged passengers to enjoy the season responsibly while adopting smart financial habits, reiterating Wema Bank’s commitment to supporting customers with innovative solutions throughout the holidays.
