NAHCO Clinches Top Honours as Aviation Ground Handling Company of the Year

…Company earns industry-wide praise for outstanding performance, sustainability efforts, and unwavering contribution to aviation growth

The Nigerian Aviation Handling Company Plc (NAHCO), in a resounding affirmation of its leadership in the aviation logistics space, has been named the Aviation Ground Handling Company of the Year by Transport Day Media, further cementing its status as a key pillar in Nigeria’s aviation sector.

The award, which was presented on Thursday, 19th June 2025, at the prestigious Radisson Blu Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos, came during the Transport Day Annual Lecture and Awards Ceremony – an event that brought together key players across Nigeria’s transportation landscape.

The gathering celebrated organisations and individuals who have made exceptional contributions to the sustainable development of the country’s transport infrastructure.

According to Mr. Frank Kintum, Chairman and Editor-in-Chief of Transport Day Media, NAHCO’s performance has been consistently exemplary. “It is a company that the Nigerian aviation community should be proud of,” he declared, hailing NAHCO’s resilience, strong brand equity, and unrelenting commitment to operational excellence.

The accolade adds to a growing list of laurels for NAHCO in 2024 and 2025, including the Champion of the Industry Award from the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) and the Aviation Handling Company of the Year Award from Air Transport Quarterly.

Each recognition reflects the company’s expanding footprint, innovation-led operations, and industry-leading standards.

Reacting to the latest recognition, Dr. Sola Obabori, NAHCO’s Group Executive Director, Corporate Services, expressed pride in the team’s dedication and the company’s pivotal role within the sector.

“This is well deserved because everyone in the aviation sector recognises the important role NAHCO plays in the industry,” Obabori said.

Reflecting on the company’s stellar 2024 performance, he added that NAHCO is well-positioned to achieve even greater strides in 2025, delivering enhanced value to shareholders and stakeholders alike.

He emphasised NAHCO’s unwavering commitment to sustainability, noting that the company has adopted forward-thinking technologies and operational procedures to improve efficiency.

These innovations, he said, are specifically aimed at optimising handling time, conserving fuel, and reducing emissions.

“This recognition underscores the hard work and dedication of our entire team in integrating sustainability into our core operations,” Dr. Obabori stated. “We remain steadfast in our commitment to providing world-class aviation handling services while minimising our environmental impact and contributing to a greener future for the Nigerian aviation sector.”

Founded with a vision to transform aviation services in Nigeria, NAHCO Plc is a diversified, multi-billion-naira conglomerate with strategic interests across aviation ground handling, airport management, training, commodities exports, energy solutions, and more.

With a robust presence in all major Nigerian airports, the company stands tall as one of Africa’s most recognisable aviation service providers.
