NAMA Extends Condolences Following Tragic Port Harcourt Helicopter Crash
The Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) has extended its deepest condolences to the families of eight Nigerians who tragically lost their lives in a helicopter crash on 24th October 2024 in Port Harcourt.
The ill-fated incident, which has sent shockwaves across the nation, claimed the lives of dedicated individuals committed to the service of their country.
Expressing profound sorrow over the loss in a statement, Engr Farouk Ahmed Umar, Managing Director and Chief Executive of NAMA, acknowledged the bravery and selflessness displayed by the victims, whose lives were cut short while contributing to Nigeria’s growth.
“As an agency, we are deeply grieved by the tragic loss of lives of 8 Nigerians in the course of service to their fatherland,” Umar stated. “Our hearts go out to their families and loved ones at this difficult and trying moment.”
He said the tragedy has united the nation in mourning, with many reflecting on the sacrifices made by these men and women in their pursuit of a stronger economy.
Highlighting the significant role these individuals played, noting that their ultimate sacrifice should not be in vain, the NAMA Chief added: “As we join the rest of the nation to mourn the demise of these outstanding Nigerians… it is our collective hope that their sacrifice will not be in vain.”
The agency concluded the statement with prayers for the departed and a call for resilience for the bereaved.
“May Almighty God grant their bereaved families and loved ones the courage to bear this irreversible loss, and may the souls of the departed rest in perfect peace. Amen.”
